The course format will be led yoga classes with workshop style asana experimentations during class. The theme of focus will vary each week.
Session 1 – Solar power and the state of the asana
Sun salutations: Let’s revisit the asanas of the sun salutations with the help of certain tools to refine and explore this heat-bringing practice.
We explore each vinyasa and asana in of the sun salutations for refinement and proper technique to build the strength we need for the rest of the practice.
Sthitih – the internal work. What do we do after striking a pose? Do we just stay there and breathe, or is there more to it? Let’s explore more thoroughly.
Jumping: Bringing in jumps helps not only to keep the practice fun and interesting, but the technique is prevailing the whole practice, wether you actually jump or not. We will have a look at different jumping techniques for standing asanas and sun salutations. To aid with this we will of course have a good long look at navasana, including different methods.
The two forces
We explore the two opposing forces of the fundamental standing asanas. Grounding down, and lifting up.
These forces are not only due to gravity, but start from the inside with the breath and the bandhas. We will be using blocks to experience more stability, and get a tangible feeling of the grounding effect for lifting and twisting.
Confidence! These ideas will help you to find points of focus in your yoga practice, and you will feel like you know what you are doing when you practice.
Session 2 – Ashtanga Fun Class & inversions
There is no need to actually do a headstand or handstand during this class. Everyone works on their own abilities.
What about that headstand, or arm balance? Scary? Let’s change it from scary to fun by taking small bites and working with fundamentals.
Shoulderstand variations and safety. Pain in the neck? How to use props.
In this class we practice a led ashtanga style yoga class with different versions of selected asanas from the primary series, the second series, and the third series, modified for accessibility for all, as a fun way to laborate and to try out some alternative things.
Practicing is fun!

Meet your teacher

Alexander Lemberg – E-RYT & YACEP certified since 2015
Alex is a Swedish-speaking Finn who found yoga by accident due to various health issues, and then became a certified Hatha yoga teacher in 2014.
During the summer of 2015 Alex went to an Ashtanga Yoga summer camp in Houtskari with Petri Räisänen and Juha Javanainen from Helsingin Astangajoogakoulu, and fell in love with the depths of the ashtanga yoga practice.
Since then Alex has been teaching over 5000 hours of yoga classes with a wide range of people, while managing Yogashala Raseborg in Tammisaari, and has actively been practicing with different world renowned teachers on different workshop, such as Eddie Stern, Kino McGregor, Simon Borg-Olivier, and also online courses with David Garrigues.
“To me it’s important that the practices are taught in a safe, healthy and effective way for each student. As a yoga teacher it is important to understand that all people are different, and to embrace the strengths and differences of each individual.
In my teaching style you will learn to turn your senses inward (pratyāhāra), you will improve your focus and learn to practice to the rhythm of your own breath. The meditation and concentration makes the practice meaningful, and is a gateway to your inner dimensions.
Customers are saying
“I started practicing yoga online with Alex during Corona when I was forced to work from home.
To me it was very good to have scheduled activity so it was not only work 24/7. The yoga practice helped me to wind down and lift my energy levels.
Now several months later I am more flexible, have more strength and stability.
I highly appreciate that Alex have had energy to arrange his online courses during the pandemic, when I otherwise would not have had an opportunity to join a yoga class ledd with such a high skill of teaching!”
-MATHIAS
“Slowly I am starting to feel more flexible in my body, and I have had much less pain in my back and less headache.
It is truly fantastic when I see how the yoga practice helps me to feel better!”
-ANONYMOUS CUSTOMER
I have had huge problems with (probably) stress-related symptoms in my body.
It has put limitations on my normal training routine. I now feel like the symtoms are slowly getting better thanks to the yoga practice.”
