Unlock the Power of Traditional Yoga!

Discover Ashtanga Yoga, an Indian practice that combines slow movements, breath control & internal energy for self transformation. The teachings are adapted to our modern lifestyles and bodies for an inclusive teaching style.

I hear many people say they are too stiff to practice yoga, but I hear no one saying they are too dirty to take a shower 🤔. Pro-tip: Yoga is made for stiff people 😉.

This course is for any age and any body. If you want to start practice yoga, this is a good place to start 🙂

During this month you will establish a yoga routine you can continue to practice and develop in our drop-in classes.

        Regular practice typically brings:

        • Improved concentration & a calmer mind
        • More vibrant health and energy
        • Strength & flexibility
        • Better digestion & sleep

And who knows? You might even be able to tie your own shoes in old age 😉

Learn from Alexander Lemberg, 10+ years experienced teacher. Teaching in English (Finnish and Swedish also available).

        Meet your teacher

        Alexander Lemberg – E-RYT & YACEP certified since 2015

Alex is a Swedish-speaking Finn who found yoga by accident due to various health issues, and then became a certified Hatha yoga teacher in 2014.

During the summer of 2015 Alex went to an Ashtanga Yoga summer camp in Houtskari with Petri Räisänen and Juha Javanainen from Helsingin Astangajoogakoulu, and fell in love with the depths of the ashtanga yoga practice.

Since then Alex has been teaching over 5000 hours of yoga classes with a wide range of people, while managing Yogashala Raseborg in Tammisaari, and has actively been practicing with different world renowned teachers on different workshop, such as Eddie Stern, Kino McGregor, Simon Borg-Olivier, and also online courses with David Garrigues.

“To me it’s important that the practices are taught in a safe, healthy and effective way for each student. As a yoga teacher it is important to understand that all people are different, and to embrace the strengths and differences of each individual.

In my teaching style you will learn to turn your senses inward (pratyāhāra), you will improve your focus and learn to practice to the rhythm of your own breath. The meditation and concentration makes the practice meaningful, and is a gateway to your inner dimensions.

Ashtanga Yoga Beginners Course – for whom?

This course is open for anyone who is interested in learning a physical and dynamic tradition of yoga practice.

During this month you will establish a yoga routine you can continue to practice and develop in our drop-in classes. There are no age, or body type discriminations in my teaching style.

What do we cover in the beginners course?

We will cover the fundamentals of the practice, such as breathing technique, fundamental yoga postures and movements (asanas and vinyasa), focus/dristi, bandhas and practice philosophy.

You will learn to practice Surya Namaskara A, more than half of the standing sequence, and about half of the seated sequence of asanas, and a short closing sequence (3-4 asanas).

        After this course

After this course you are ready to start your yoga journey with a regular yoga practice, by practicing in our weekly drop-in classes.
