Ashtanga Yoga

Led Ashtanga Class & Workshop Format

Astangajoogaa kaikille tasoille

Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional system of yoga, originating from India, where you learn a set sequence of hatha yoga postures that are linked together with slow movements, breath, and internal energy control – for positive self-transformation.

All classes are beginner-friendly, and as a beginner you will benefit just as much as a more seasoned practitioner. We do more of a deep dive in this course compared to the dedicated beginners-courses.

So, what are these special classes?

In these special classes we will not only practice a regular led class of ashtanga yoga, but in each session there will be a theme to explore – either in asana or philosophy, or both.

In the regular 60-70 minute led classes we focus more on the flow of the practice – but here we actually have time to stop and have a deeper look at details and personal modification, more like a workshop class.

In these classes we practice a well-balanced combination of asanas from the primary series and the intermediate series. These classes tends to be quite popular.

Meet your teacher

Alexander Lemberg – E-RYT & YACEP certified since 2015

Alex is a Swedish-speaking Finn who found yoga by accident due to various health issues, and then became a certified Hatha yoga teacher in 2014.

During the summer of 2015 Alex went to an Ashtanga Yoga summer camp in Houtskari with Petri Räisänen and Juha Javanainen from Helsingin Astangajoogakoulu, and fell in love with the depths of the ashtanga yoga practice.

Since then Alex has been teaching over 5000 hours of yoga classes with a wide range of people, while managing Yogashala Raseborg in Tammisaari, and has actively been practicing with different world renowned teachers on different workshop, such as Eddie Stern, Kino McGregor, Simon Borg-Olivier, and also online courses with David Garrigues.

“To me it’s important that the practices are taught in a safe, healthy and effective way for each student. As a yoga teacher it is important to understand that all people are different, and to embrace the strengths and differences of each individual.

In my teaching style you will learn to turn your senses inward (pratyāhāra), you will improve your focus and learn to practice to the rhythm of your own breath. The meditation and concentration makes the practice meaningful, and is a gateway to your inner dimensions.

Yoga as Self-care – Is This a Thing?

From business leaders to entrepreneurs, athletes to musicians, the world’s top performers all have one thing in common: a non-negotiable self-care and self-reflection routine.

🧘‍♂️ Steve Jobs (Apple) practiced Zen meditation daily. Not because it was trendy – but because quieting his mind made him sharper and more creative.

🧘‍♀️ Madonna has practiced Ashtanga Yoga for decades, using it to stay strong, grounded, and ridiculously agile (on stage and in life).

🛁 Oprah swears by morning meditation, journaling, and long walks to center herself before tackling the empire.

These people schedule self-care like a business meeting – because they know it’s the fuel behind their focus, ideas, and leadership.

So no, taking time for yourself isn’t lazy. It’s legendary.

What’s your routine going to look like?
