Yoga for stiff men – “Use it or lose it”
Strength, flexibility, and balance are qualities that gradually decline if we don’t use our bodies. These are things we often take for granted when we’re younger. Sooner or later, however, we realize that our bodies aren’t quite what they used to be. It can come as a bit of a shock when we can no longer stand steadily on one leg, tie our own shoelaces, or get out of bed without rolling onto our side first.
With regular practice, you may notice improvements in strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance. In the long run, you may also experience better overall health, greater body awareness, and improved sleep.
🧘🧘♀️ Build your balance, strength, and mobility
🌬️ Learn to breathe calmly and deeply
🥬 Improve your overall physical health

What Our Yoga Students Say
“I started doing online yoga during the COVID pandemic in the spring, when I had to work from home.
For me, it was really helpful to have a scheduled activity so that I wouldn’t just end up working 24/7. Yoga helped me both relax and recharge my energy.
Now, several months later, my flexibility, stability, and strength have improved significantly.
I really appreciate that Alex has kept his online courses going, as otherwise I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to participate in a well-taught yoga course in Swedish!”
– Mathias
“Alex’s Ashtanga classes give me a real energy boost. He explains the postures clearly and keeps the atmosphere relaxed.
The practice is challenging enough to feel that you’re making progress, but never too much. I also appreciate how he listens to us – he demonstrates both easier and more challenging variations of each posture and always offers a safe alternative if your knees (or anything else) need extra care.
After just over a month of practice, forward bends and vinyasas already feel easier. My hip flexors have loosened up, so everything flows a little more smoothly.”
– Kimmo
“I’ve been struggling with significant physical symptoms, most likely related to stress.
These symptoms have limited my usual exercise routine, but I feel they’ve gradually improved thanks to yoga.”

Alexander Lemberg – E-RYT & YACEP certified since 2015 and 2017 (Yoga Alliance)
Yoga should be practiced in a calm and mindful way – regardless of the style of yoga you practice!
The paradox is that gentle, controlled movements require strength and body awareness. In the Yoga Sutras, Patañjali writes “Sthira sukham asanam”, meaning that a posture (asana) should be stable, focused, and grounded (sthira), while at the same time relaxed, light, and comfortable (sukha).
“In my teaching, I want every student to get the maximum benefit from the practice, regardless of age or body type. Many of my students have been twice my age, which has taught me the importance of adapting my teaching and offering useful alternatives that help students maintain a healthy and balanced body.
As a yoga teacher, it’s essential to understand that certain exercises may cause problems for some people, and to be able to offer alternatives that provide similar benefits.”
Alexander (Alex), father of two and founder of Yogashala Raseborg, began practicing yoga around 2013 and became a certified yoga teacher in 2015.
In the summer of 2015, he attended his first Ashtanga Yoga summer retreat with Petri Räisänen and Juha Javanainen in Houtskär, in the Turku Archipelago, and has continued attending these summer retreats ever since.
Alex has taught over 6,000 hours as a certified yoga teacher and has practiced with many different teachers, both regularly and through shorter workshops, including Eddie Stern, Petri Räisänen, Juha Javanainen, Marke Murtomäki, Kino MacGregor, Simon Borg-Olivier, and online with David Garrigues.
